Running
If you've purchased your bike and that it is new, you have to know that you will not be able to enjoy immediately. You will have to do what is called a run. Your bike (that is the case also for cars and scooteurs) contains moving parts that will rub or slide against each other. The run is the period necessary parts to adapt them one other before reaching their maximum effectiveness. Running both parts engines, as brakes and tires. In short, by purchasing a new bike, you'll have a bike that does not slow down, does not hold water, and does not. Beautiful!
Running the engine
Do not listen to people you saying that modern engines are run factory. Although it is true that manufacturers, for the sake of reliability, have improved their production techniques, running remains paramount: a well-engine gain in longevity and performance.
The two keys to a good run:
- comply with the manufacturer in terms of engine speed. These are record-specific bike. Refer to the manual or your dealer. For my part, the program was to fly a 500km * engine not exceeding 6000tours/minutes, then 500km to 1000km below 8000trs/min.
- change as often as possible reports. The winding roads are a must for run-in.
We must also do its heat engine, and this is true throughout the life of your 2roues. For scooteurs equipped with a 2-stroke (or motorcycles, but they are increasingly rare), it will also make the mixture rich in oil.
Grinding of brake pads and tires.
As the engine, brakes and tires are not top of their effectiveness from the early rounds of wheels. For brakes, avoid sudden stops during the first 100 kilometers. Firstly because it is dangerous during this period, secondly because you may "freeze" your platelets, ie to make them unfit to brake properly. The tires are covered with a layer of paraffin when new, which gives them look good, but makes it very slippery. This layer will is eliminated during the first 200 kilometers, but it must always be careful when taking corner. The key word: gradually go! Naturally, these instructions burnishing should be respected in each tire change / brake pad.
Finally, it is amusing to see how a bike "to life" during his first tour of wheels. When the first engine heater, the collector from the exhaust will take a bluish color.

The chain your bike will also relax quickly when new. We must think about Retension the first revision (1000) Good run!
